Lost in Transition? -- Understanding and overcoming crises

Description
The "Lost in Transition?" program reveals the connection between the heritage of the 1990s transition period and contemporary challenges and new changes we face today. From the war in Ukraine to Georgia's political crisis, the difficult situation of Belarusian civil society, and the loss of Artsakh for Armenia – all these events have their roots in the collapse of the Soviet Union and the turbulent transition period that followed.
Outcomes
- Two videos have been filmed where witnesses of the time share their experiences. Educational materials have been created based on the videos.
- Workshops have been organized to familiarize with new educational materials, involving teachers from different regions of Armenia.
- Workshops have also been organized for witnesses of the transition period to prepare them for effective meetings with students. Ten meetings have been held with the participation of witnesses and students.
- An international camp is planned to be organized where witnesses, teachers and students from the countries participating in the program will share their experiences and impressions, as well as discuss successes and failures.
Within the framework of the program, ten new contemporary witnesses - "Democracy Witnesses" - share their personal ideas, helping us better understand the former and current struggles taking place in their countries.
